Masala Chai
Ancient Spiced Black Tea
Thought to have been sought out by ancient kings thousands of years ago in search of a tea that would act as a medicinal beverage. Masala chai was not made with tea, but with spices.
Though many variations of spices are used to make masala chai across South Asia, the primary ingredients are black tea, green cardamom, cinnamon, black pepper, ginger, cloves, and star anise.
These ingredients create a warm and filling drink that benefit the body by reducing inflammation, boosting immunity, aiding in digestion, containing antioxidants, and increasing energy levels.
